If I was president, my first three priorities would be to reduce the cost of going to college, a ban on all petroleum based water bottles and plastic bags, and converting us to the metric system. My first priority, reducing the cost of going to college, would make it much more affordable for people. More people would be able to get a better education and a better job. I think this would really make our country better.
My second priority, banning petroleum based water bottles and plastic bags, would make it so we use less of our precious oil. It would be nearly impossible to ban everything plastic at this point, but water bottles and plastic bags would be a good start to switching from petroleum based plastics to other substitutes, like bio-plastics. I would ban plastic bags and water bottles because even though they are recyclable, lots of them end up in landfills and take decades to break down. If I ban them completely then we can use the petroleum for things we really need. My last priority, converting us to the metric system, would make things so much easier. It would make it so we have a more universal measurement system so we wouldn't have to have conversion formulas. If we just used the metric system it would be a lot easier to learn too. Kids wouldn't have to get confused with inches and centimeters, they would just have one system that makes sense. Even though it might not be a huge change, I think the U.S. could really benefit from switching to the metric system.

Winter break started off great, but after christmas I got really bored. I can't believe I'm saying this, but winter break should be a little shorter! I like having time off, but if you have too much time and you get everthing done you wanted too, then what? School fills in 7 hours of your day, and when you don't have it, you don't know what to do. Chirstmas was pretty amazing though, like always. On Christmas Eve we kept our tradition of eating spaghetti and meatballs, watching the Polar Express, and reading the Night Before Christmas. Christmas day was great as well. We ate krepes for breakfast, and just chilled while opening presents. I also would have talked about my experience downhill skiing for the first time with the Boy Scouts, but it got cancelled because of icy roads. That was pretty much my break, kind of fun but kind of boring.
